so part of me getting more serious about comics is me being more aware of what my strengths are, and what my weaknesses are. i looked over my comics and tried to see where i feel like i lack, and what i feel like i do really well.

there isn't a lot of talking in my stories. people just do things, or stuff just happens. i'm trying to have the characters interact more. you can really tell a lot about a character by how they talk and what they have to say.

which is another thing i don't think i do very well: giving info on who people are, and what motivates their actions. for me comics are all about the characters in them not about the stories. the driving part of the story should be how the characters act in a situation.

one thing i think i do well is that i don't take it easy on the background details. i like drawing all the lines and the bricks and all that. but sometimes it looks to crowded so i'm trying to find a good balance.

this is a page from the story i'm doing now. i really think it does a good job of explaining the character relationship and gives you an idea of who the characters are.

I think you're developing well! The only real way to get better at doing comics is to keep on challenging yourself with every new page.

I look forward to seeing your stuff get better and better.

thanks! i think i've gotten much better over the last few months. i've taken my ego out of it and really looked at my comics with a critical eye.
